We've been busy building features that help you save more on every ride. Version 2.2.0 brings real-time surge price alerts, automatic promo code detection, smarter weather notifications, and more.

Here's everything that's new.

Surge Price Alerts

Ride prices spike all the time — during rush hour, after concerts, in bad weather. Until now, you had no way to know when prices were high in your area without opening each app individually.

Payfair now monitors surge pricing across all your connected ride apps and sends you a notification when prices spike. You can customize how sensitive the alerts are with three tiers:

Low — only notifies when prices are slightly elevated (1.1–1.3x)
Mid — notifies at moderate surges (1.3–1.6x)
Hot — only notifies during major price spikes (1.6x and above)

Choose any combination of tiers in Settings to get exactly the alerts that matter to you.

Night Mode for Notifications

Nobody wants their phone buzzing about surge pricing at 2 AM. The new night mode silences all surge and weather alerts between 8 PM and 10 AM. Toggle it on in Settings — it's enabled by default.

Smarter Weather Alerts

Weather affects ride prices. Rain, snow, and extreme temperatures all drive surge pricing up. Payfair's weather alerts now let you set exactly when you want to be notified before conditions change:

1 hour before
30 minutes before
15 minutes before

Pick any combination of lead times. Want both a 1-hour heads-up and a 15-minute reminder? Done. Alerts now also survive device reboots, so you won't miss a notification just because your phone restarted.

Automatic Promo Codes & Discount Pricing

If you have promo codes or active discounts on Bolt, Cabify, or Hopp, Payfair now detects and applies them automatically when comparing prices. You'll see the discounted fare right on the comparison screen — no extra steps needed.

When a discount is active on any provider (including Uber and Lyft), the rate card now shows a strikethrough original price alongside the discounted fare, so you can see exactly how much you're saving.

Fixes & Improvements

Lyft arrival times — ETAs are now calculated correctly, fixing an issue where some estimates were inaccurate.
Bolt pricing — Displayed prices now include platform fees, so what you see matches what you'll pay.
Duplicate weather notifications — Fixed an issue where the same weather event could trigger multiple notifications.
Weather alert rescheduling — Changing your lead time preferences now correctly updates pending alerts.
Currency sync — More reliable for users who travel between regions.
Comparison screen performance — Smoother scrolling and faster category switching when browsing ride options.
